So why words are the secret sauce? Think about it. You are out there putting your heart and soul into your business, but if you want to communicate It sounds generic. It's like talking to nobody. So what makes the difference between having crickets and having a packed full of, you know, discovery calls?
It's not just about the fanciest websites or posting the most. On social media, it is about whether your words actually speak directly to what your potential clients are actually thinking and feeling and wanting and your messaging isn't just, you know, fluff. or mumbo jumbo of words. It's your handshake.
It is your introduction. It is your promise. It is that transformation that your business provides, but it also gives them that. So when you use the right words, you're showing your potential clients, Hey, you know what? I see you and I get you and I get what you need. So let me give you a few examples so that you can speak to what they actually need.
And when I mean, I'm talking about your potential clients. I'm not talking about. anybody else. So let's say that you are a designer and if you say I offer design services, that's cool, but it's not going to hit anywhere. They're not going to feel like you're speaking directly to them. So why not flip it in a way that You say something like I create spaces that reflect your personality while you're saving time and work because that's what a lot of people actually want is either Saving time and for them to you know, I'll give you the work, but you're gonna save me time So you see the difference there.
So one is about what you do and And the other one is how it benefits them, what is good for them. Now, people are more likely to pay attention when they hear words that solve their problems. And I'm pretty sure you know this, but, and trust me when I say this, their problem isn't just, I need a, Design service.
It's, I want a beautiful home without the stress. And that is what exactly most people want in their lives. Also, let's be honest, it's 2024 and the audiences and potential clients have completely changed. Clients are smarter. They're more selective. They're looking for specialty as well. They have less time to waste.
They just don't know what to do. What do you actually do? They want to feel understood. And I want you to think about this. The brands that actually thrive are the ones that actually communicate clearly and quickly and with empathy. So your words have to have a laser focus on what your potential clients actually care about.
So don't make it about you. Make it about them. And here's a little trick if you've heard me say this before, but I'm going to repeat it to you again in case some of you are new and obviously haven't been following me for a very long time. Listen to the words your clients use when they actually describe their struggles and their goals and use those exact same words.
in your messaging, in your marketing, because this makes your potential client feel like, whoa, they totally get me because you are speaking directly their language and you're speaking directly to their heart, really. You know, in fact, if you use the exact phrasing your audience uses, you're automatically building the trust.
And it is also one of the easiest way to connect on a deeper level. That's why I always say, you know, your potential clients better than you think that you know them. So use those words because you have clients that have come from that same place and let's face it, people don't want to be sold to all the time.
They want to feel connected to the person who is behind the brand. So when your messaging feels human and relatable and speaks directly to their needs, it creates trust and trust. is what turns a casual browser into a paying client or a lead. And think about it like this, your words are the start of a relationship.
You won't ask somebody to get married with you on a first blind date, right? Unless you, maybe you are. in Vegas or something like that, but you know, you build that trust over time because your words are the bridge that makes it happen. Okay. All right. I know what you're thinking. I need more of this and you're in luck because I've put together a secret Google doc that actually It dives deep into how to turn your words into clients.
